About Me

Since December 2018, Matthew Carroll has served clients as a Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in Philadelphia. As a highly successful financial advisor, he attributes his ability to help clients reach their goals to his years of experience in the fast-paced world of sports administration. He spent 12 years in management with Major League Baseball, seven with the Atlanta Braves, and five with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was involved in every aspect of the business, including player acquisition, roster building, scouting, and relationship management.

During his time in professional sports, Carroll demonstrated his ability to make connections and grow them into long-lasting, effective relationships. He also honed his skills in business development, project management, and financial decision-making. His meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills help him excel at his work with diverse populations of investors at all levels. He takes the time to understand every client's individual goals so that he can help them develop a plan to meet those targets.

Current Role & Duties

Matthew works with high-net-worth clients to develop investment and wealth planning strategies. Using his knowledge of professional athletes and their families, he walks his athlete clients through every step of the wealth-building journey starting from the recruitment phase. He also takes care of his clients off the field through custom concierge services. Those services include helping his clients form beneficial partnerships with agencies, coaches, and training facilities. He monitors clients' long and short-term investments to ensure they stay on track with the personalized financial plan.

While Matthew Carroll Atlanta Braves' background is unusual among financial advisors, his interactions with elite-level professional athletes translate well into his work with executives in other industries. He understands the sense of urgency that an athlete may feel when injuries can end a career prematurely. Executives at the top of their earning potential may feel a similar pressure when the stock market and corporate boards can change on a whim. Balancing assets and liabilities, preparing for retirement, and passing along wealth to the next generation are just a few of the essential goals that he can help clients reach.

While taking care of his current clients is a priority, Matthew also works hard to identify new clients that may benefit from his knowledge and experience. He uses prospecting and referral strategies to reach new clients. Carroll's custom presentations and performance standards help him demonstrate how well he will care for their financial futures to potential clients. He understands that the highest praise his clients can give is the referral of their business and personal contacts, and he considers that sacred trust.

Matthew graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a minor in Business Administration.
